Lentil-based vegetable stew with tamarind broth

Masala mix

  1. Fry together dry.
  2. Grind.

Gheeta's Sambar

  1. Boil the dal.
  2. When cooked add vegetables + salt.
  3. When the vegetables are half cooked, add the above masala and boil dry with Tamarind juice.
  4. Season with mustard + curry leaves.
  5. Use the same type of vegetables for Aviyal. Except mango.

  • Cummin seeds
  • Split pea dal
  • Asafoetida
  • Coconut, scraped
  • Curry leaves
